Height is measured with the leaves straightened. Because you shape the canopy yourself, the finished height can sit slightly lower once you fan the leaves out.

What arrives, and how it goes together

Your tree ships flat-packed in two parts: the loose leaves in one bundle and the bare stem in the other. You push each leaf base onto the stem by hand — no tools, no glue, about two minutes — then bend the stems to the shape you want. Nothing is pre-assembled, so the box stays compact.

There is no pot, no soil and no moss in the box. Plan on having a planter ready, or the tree will need to lean in a corner until you do.

Why it does not read as plastic

Each leaf is moulded with a raised centre rib and fine lateral veins, then given a soft matte-touch finish rather than a shiny coating, so it absorbs light the way a real banana leaf does instead of glinting. The set mixes lighter and deeper greens across the 18 heads, which is what stops a faux tree from reading as a single flat block of green.

Styling it

The stem bundle drops into any planter with roughly a 7–9 in (18–23 cm) opening — a woven seagrass basket, a fluted terracotta pot or a tall cylinder all work. One trick worth knowing: the tree you receive is 2.7 ft on its own, and swapping the small nursery-style pot in our photos for a taller 15–20 in planter is the fastest way to lift the whole arrangement toward eye level. Add stones or sand at the base if you want extra stability.

Care

No sunlight, no water, no soil and nothing to re-pot. Dust the leaves about once a month with a dry microfibre cloth or a soft duster. If a leaf arrives bent, warm it gently with a hairdryer on low and reshape it; the wire holds the new position.
